Dr Askari Townshend founded ASKINOLOGY in 2015 and, since then, he and his team have been trusted to treat thousands of clients who have left hundreds of Google reviews.
In the early 2010’s, during his time as a Director of the UK’s largest chain of laser clinics, Dr Askari could see the world changing but not the way aesthetic services were offered… Why were clinics behind closed doors? Why was it so difficult to make an appointment and why wait so long? Did we really need to take all makeup off just to do a Botox treatment leaving it difficult for someone to go straight back to work?
He developed a vision of a different way of offering the best skincare and treatments, made accessible for busy working people that wanted transparency, honest advice and great service.
In the heart of the City of London, near Bank and Liverpool Steet stations, ASKINOLOGY comprises of three elements, each with their own dedicated space:
With a shop front and large windows, entering the inviting beautifully designed space is very different to the classic clinic behind a heavy closed door – there are no barriers to booking an appointment online or popping in to browse the advanced skincare; and if you have had a more advanced treatment, there will be no inquisitive looks as you leave!
Many of our consultations are completely free of charge and we know that one of the most powerful tools we have is to say no. We are here to be your gatekeepers and ensure that whatever we do (and whatever you ask us to do), we ensure that you have natural results every time, keeping you looking refreshed and at your best.
Dr Askari qualified as a doctor in 2002 and spent 6 years training as a surgeon in the NHS during which time he gained the title of Member of the Royal College of Surgeons. He opened his first clinic in 2008 before joining sk:n, the largest chain of laser & aesthetic clinics in the UK. During his 5 years with sk:n, he was their Director of Medical Services guiding the medical side of the business across more than 40 clinics with over 100 doctors and specialist nurses.
Dr Askari was the Lead UK Trainer and medical consultant for Sculptra and UK trainer for Ellanse. He has helped other doctors and nurses improve their techniques for several years in addition to speaking at conferences across the UK and Europe. Although he has an almost obsessive eye for detail, he is a realist and always ready to tell patients “no” when he feels that they could go too far.
“Everyone I see has pretty much the same goal – ‘I want to look less tired but I don’t want to look done’. My job is to make you look refreshed and have people comment that you look great.
I help my clients to grow old a little more gracefully than they already are and do it so subtly that no-one should ever know they’ve been to see me!”

Dr Rimi is one of the first doctors in the UK to have completed the highest recognised injectable qualification in the UK – Level 7 injectables in aesthetic medicine. With a special interest in dermatology and minor surgery, she trains and works closely with Dr Askari. When she doesn’t have a syringe in her hand she can be found performing with a vocal group (and makes a mean banana cake too!)
Dr Rimi’s General Medical Council no is 7177119.
Amy did most of her nursing in burns/plastic surgery but now is a full time Aesthetic Nurse Specialist who has been injecting for 12 years alongside some of the UK’s best-known plastic surgeons.
You wouldn’t know it from looking at her but Amy’s main hobby is food – eating it but just not doing the cooking herself! In addition to two crazy kids, another obsession are shoes (she was a millipede in a previous life).
Born and bred in Newcastle, Abbie took the plunge and moved to London 7 years ago. She has spent all her working life in beauty and spas and is loving the world of aesthetics! When she can, she’s back in Newcastle visiting family who must be wondering where her accent has gone…
