Mole & Skin Tag Removal Treatment Information
Dr Askari, Dr Rimi & Nurse Amy perform mole and skin tag removal in the City of London. Consultations can often be arranged within a week, sometimes even the same day. If suitable, treatment can be performed the same day, time permitting but do not expect this.
The shave technique is suitable for moles and tags that are proud of the skin. If your mole is flat, we are unlikely to be able to treat it. We are unable to perform removal to intimate areas.
We DO NOT perform mole checks – if you are worried that a mole may be cancerous, please see your GP or dermatologist. We can only treat benign (non-cancerous) moles.

Please bear in mind that the outcome of your consultation may be that treatment is not possible. If this is the case advice will be given on alternative treatment options but the consultation charge will still apply.
Unsightly moles and skin tags are much quicker and easier to remove than many people think. Local anaesthetic is used to make the area numb and the mole or tag is “shaved” with a special blade. Afterwards, you are left with a small scab which heals over the next few days and weeks and, ultimately, should heal with very little to see.

Small moles or tags can be removed in as little as 10 minutes.
You will be left with a small scab which will be covered with a plaster or dressing before you leave. This will take a few days to heal during which time it should be kept clean and dry. Once healed, you may be left with a very small scar which are not usually noticeable.
Injecting local anaesthetic can sting but once this is done, the area will be completely numb and there will be nothing to feel.
Dr Askari is not a dermatologist and does not perform checks for moles with worrying features or operate on cancerous or suspicious growths. If any of these features are found on consultation, Dr Askari can advise on referral to a dermatologist.
Histology is the process of examining tissue under a microscope to make or confirm a diagnosis. It is best practice to send any tissue removed from the body for histology to ensure that nothing serious is present.
