Laser is light of a specific wavelength – the Lumenis Duet laser has a wavelength that targets melanin pigment that is present in dark hair. The hair follicle is heated, destroying the follicle so that hair does not grow again.
If you have unwanted hair on any part of your body, we can probably treat it! However, white, grey or blonde hair does not contain melanin and so is not treatable.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) was invented by Lumenis and is an excellent tool but for hair removal, laser is the gold standard. The precise wavelength of light in laser ensures more effective and safer treatment.
The handpieces cool the skin for a total of 70 minutes. The total time spent in the clinic for one treatment area is approximately 90 minutes.
Fat freezing is not a method for very large individuals to lose weight but rather to treat defined areas. Your suitability will be assessed at your free consultation.
You will see a reduction in the amount of hair after each treatment.
The initial few minutes of cooling can sometimes be uncomfortable but very quickly the cold is an anaesthetic and you will spend the result of your treatment will be very comfortable.
Each treatment can take as little as 5 mins for very small areas, larger areas can be 30 mins – you will be advised at you consultation.
Each treatment is performed 4-6 weeks apart and a course of 6-8 treatments are generally required depending on skin and hair type.
All laser hair removal treatment uses heat which can be uncomfortable. However, the Lumenis Duet has a chilled tip to keep skin cool and comfortable and a larger vacuum assisted handpiece that makes larger areas almost pain free to treat.
