IPL Frequently Asked Questions
Laser is light of a specific wavelength which makes it very good at dealing with individual targets e.g. the pigment in hair. IPL contains a range of wavelengths which makes it perfect for dealing with a range of targets e.g. red broken veins and brown pigmentation.
This will depend on the severity of your condition but you should expect a significant improvement after 3 treatments. Some will get a good improvement after just one.
This will depend on the condition you are treating. Sun/age spots usually improve just a few days after treatment; broken veins and redness can take a few weeks.
Broken veins, redness and pigmentation is often caused by or made worse by the sun. No matter how well you protect your skin, as time goes by, these problems will slowly return but can be kept at bay but occasional top-up treatments once or twice a year.
Immediately after, your face will be pink/red as if you have mild sunburn. This settles over the next 24-48hrs. Depending on the size and location of treatment, it is possible that you could return to work immediately.
Treatment may feel an elastic band being flicked onto the skin accompanied by heat. Chilled air is blown onto the skin during treatment to make it more comfortable.
